As a team, the staff of the Community Nursing Home, Alexandria, believes in a high standard of care, through which we consider each and every resident as an individual. We employ a sincere and personal approach, in assisting the resident in attaining the maximum possible potential in all areas of functioning. We support the resident’s right to self-determination and independence, for as long as possible, stressing a supportive family input, thus preserving Quality of Life while ensuring each one’s confidentiality and dignity.
Community Nursing Home also recognizes that the resident and public in general have the right be served in both official languages (French or English).
Our role is to provide a clean, comfortable and secure environment, and to assist other health agencies, in the overall pursuit of independence, comfort, safety and security, for the frail and elderly in the community. Our well-chosen staff is trained to meet the physical, social, emotional, nutritional, spiritual and intellectual needs of the individual. Therefore, our Mission is reflected throughout the home focus on present and future needs. Each department fully integrated creating the whole.
Furthermore, our role is to maintain, equip, operate and carry on the business of a nursing home, as licensed under the Ministry of Health Nursing Homes Act, 1972, as amended. Admissions are made on a standard of needs through our Placement Coordination Services. Limitations of services are outlined by the Nursing Homes Act and/or through medical, nursing rehabilitative and/or psychological pre-evaluations.
